Since its founding in 1998, IMDEC has offered independent ethical and legal reviews of human-subjects research (HSR) on behalf of sponsors and investigators working in a wide range of research environments.
IMDEC’s main goal in conducting its reviews is to help protect the rights, dignity, and welfare of the individuals who volunteer to participate in research activities. Achieving this objective together with sponsors and investigators is the cornerstone of responsible human-subjects research.
IMDEC represents a unique alternative on the IRB landscape in Europe: a non-affiliated IRB that is capable of responding quickly to the needs of its clients while also applying a higher standard of independence to the process of reviewing research proposals.
The International Medical & Dental Ethics Commission (IMDEC) is registered at the Office of Human Research Protections of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (IORG0011460).
